
Brittian “Britt” Frerichs currently serves as COO of Rail Services at CDL Electric Company, bringing with him more than 25 years of experience in the railroad industry. His career encompasses a broad spectrum of expertise, including railroad maintenance, construction, operations, engineering, business development, finance, and project management. In his role at CDL, Britt provides leadership, oversight, and strategic vision for all aspects of Railroad Services. He is responsible for ensuring that CDL continues to deliver exceptional service and value to its customers.
Britt began his professional career in 2000 with Union Pacific Railroad. Over his 15-year tenure, he advanced through several key positions including Signal Design Engineer, Project Manager, and Program Manager/Director. Among his proudest professional accomplishments was his contribution to the successful completion of major infrastructure projects such as the Santa Teresa Intermodal and Fueling Facility in Santa Teresa, New Mexico, and the Sunset Double Track initiative. In 2015, Britt joined Wabtec Corporation as a Systems Integration Program Manager, where he played a pivotal role in implementing Positive Train Control (PTC) systems for several railroads, including the Terminal Railroad Association of St. Louis (TRRA) and the Belt Railway Company of Chicago (BRC). His success and leadership led to his promotion in 2020 to Director of Program Management for the Western Region, where he led a large, diverse team supporting numerous system and signal projects across North America and internationally in Canada and Liberia, Africa. In 2024, Britt transitioned to Herzog Technologies Inc. as Senior Director of Rail Systems – Business Development, where he expanded his experience in the commercial and operational aspects of the rail technology industry.
Driven by his passion for operations and hands-on leadership, Britt joined CDL Electric in August 2025 as COO of Rail Services, where he continues to apply his deep industry knowledge and commitment to excellence to drive growth, innovation, and customer success.
Britt holds a Bachelor of Science in Project Management from Bellevue University and an Associate of Applied Science in Electronic Technology from Salt Lake Community College. He also completed his Electronic Apprenticeship and ST at Union Pacific, holds an FCC License, and has completed multiple leadership development programs at Union Pacific, Wabtec, and Herzog. Additionally, Britt is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Known for his collaborative leadership style, technical expertise, and dedication to team achievement, Britt has positioned CDL Electric’s Railroad Services division for continued success and sustainable growth in the years ahead.
