Meet CDL

leadership team

Our CEO

Larry Seward Jr., CEO and Owner of CDL Group of Companies. CDL started as S&S Electric in 1964, where Larry worked with his father and mother. Larry graduated from Pittsburg State University with his Bachelor of Science in Electronic Technology. After obtaining his degree, Larry worked toward, and received, his Master Electrician certification and took over S&S in 1996. From the beginning, Larry created a company vision and developed his objectives accordingly. From what began as a “mom and pop” company with very few employees and having a sole focus on Pittsburg, Kansas-Larry used a combination of his leadership ability and vast experience with business practice and economic conditions to create C.D.L. Electric Company, Incorporated – turning it into a multi-million company, now servicing 33 states and 2 provinces. CDL was once known as a small electric company, but has grown into a railroad solutions, manufacturing, and trades services company that is recognized across the nation as the provider for railroad maintenance in the short line industry.

Outside of the office, Larry focuses on his family ranch. Larry sees his company as a resource to encourage growth within not only the community, but also in his employees. He enjoys being part of a business that provides ample opportunity to so many individuals and looks forward to the continued growth.
